The "No Big Deal Exam"

Blake recently took his Dental boards and he recently got his results! But to keep everyone in suspense I want to let you in on my little joke. The test is called the National Board Dental Examinations and is abbreviated to the NBDE so in making fun of text slang I called it the No Big Deal Exam. Ha 

i thought it was funny, Blake did not! 

So anyway, he passed! And with flying colors, he did much better than the national average in every section! He was freaking out till we found out but for no darn reason! I am very proud of him and thankful for his studying and hard work. 

The end of the year

Blake has almost finished his first year of dental school, I cant believe it!  It seems like we just barely left Provo but that's now a year ago. It feels like we just got married for that matter, but that was three years ago!

 Harper and I made a special trip out to the dental school to bring in some cupcakes for Blake's class, a little bit of practice for future years of elementary school parties I guess!  I made some peanut butter chocolate and cookies and cream cupcakes, luckily this was the day i declared that i was going to stick it to the diet!  It was fun and Harper had a picture taken next to a statue of Robert Wadlow, the world's tallest man while in Alton on campus! Definitely a high point in her life!

When we returned home Harper kept messing with my makeup so... I put eye shadow and toenail polish on her! She promptly got a bunch of hairs in the polish but its pretty snazzy anyway. 

Now he is a real student!

Blake has officially been welcomed into the dental community and is now an official dentist in training and he has a very fancy white lab coat to prove it! We had a lot of fun at the event and it was really nice to meet some teachers and deans as well as his classmates who he will be studying with for the next four years. Nana and Chief (Blake's parents) were able to come out and enjoy the event as well. We were so happy to have them here and to have the extra help! Harper, as the pictures show, also wore a very fetching white coat for the event and she was quite the celebrity with EVERYONE talking to her and us about her, luckily she was in a very good mood and covered in drool!

Three Down Nineteen to Go

Well Blake received another interview invite today! He go invited to Boston University! We were really happy about this! What a cool place to go! But we will see what happens. He will be going out on October 5th to interview and i might be going with him! which would be so much fun since i have never been to the east coast. He also received a rejection letter from a school in Arizona... but we don't talk about that!

One down Twenty-One to go!

Blake received his first invitation for an interview from University of Iowa's Dental School. He has applied to 22 schools and so far we have heard from one... Most interviews are held in the fall and you can begin hearing about them now. So it is great news that we have heard from one! We hope to hear from all twenty-two by December, which is the month they can begin informing people for acceptance. We don't really care too much where we are admitted, Iowa would actually be really nice because we would be close to Nauvoo, his grandparents and his parents if they do not move before we go to school there. I, however, will not have a lot to do in Iowa, but at least it isn't Quartzite!
