True Life: My Name is Harper

  When you are 9 months old life is very complicated and no body knows that better than Harper Imam.  Her day to day activities are varied and multi-faceted. She is a very competent crawler and an aspiring walker.  She stands all on her own for a very wobbly 20 seconds then, after falling on her butt, she tries again! She loves to go to the store and wave at all the people and smile the biggest, cheesiest smile for all of them.  Shoes are one of the most interesting things in the world, she  is always delighted when someone leaves a stray shoe in her domain!  

Harper has always had an interest in literature. She enjoys reading a wide variety of titles, including her infamous SASSY book but has lately acquired a book, from Grandma and Grandpa, on baby spring animals and it has become her new favorite.  She loves to feel the touch and feel fur and has particular interest in the page on ducklings. She also likes the ribbon the book was decorated with. 

  

 She enjoys strolling around the neighborhood, even though she usually gets back to the house asleep! 

She finds true excitement in the little things. Her favorite activity lately is crawling down the hallway slowly until she hears someone follow her, at which time she tries her hardest to escape.  However when she gets this excited all her crawling ability goes out the window and she falls on her stomach and shrieks and attempts to get away. Lately she crawls as fast as she can for the stairs and goes up one step, however last night she made it up half way. She was very proud of her accomplishment even though her parents were not.  Most people would just pass by a strainer/cutting board but not Harper, she sees it for what it really is, something to chew on.  

She received a new toy lately, she doesn't mind looking like an old woman when she uses her new walker because it has lots of fun gadgets on it. However she has to practice a bit more till she can actually walk with it.   

Sometimes it is a bit hard for her to get food into her mouth, especially when it sticks to her nose! 

She enjoys watching TV and her new favorite movie Harry Potter 7 Part 1, which she is watching in this picture. She loves TV so much that the TV had to be fenced in for its own safety. Dad was very happy when little fingers could no longer touch his electronics. 

Speaking of Dad, Harper loves to watch a bit of video gaming. Much to her Mom's dismay her favorite game to watch is Call of Duty. She finds the gun noises very lifelike and also very funny for some reason.  She has also shown new interest in Wii sports games.   

When she has some free time she can be found hauling chairs around the kitchen for a bit of strength training or tickling the ivories in the living room. 

She had some Easter fun last weekend. She stole an egg intended for some primary kids and eventually got it open to spill the contents all over the floor.  Much to her delight the egg was then filled with cheerios which she enjoyed snacking on and depositing all over the living room.

She participated in some egg dyeing, which involved some whining in her high chair....

She wore a pretty pink dress to church on Easter and ripped the flower off the front and then had a fun time crawling all over the church building in it. 

 At the end of a busy day she likes to lay her head down on her favorite pillow, but she would never let you get a picture of it, she doesn't like to appear lazy!
